// LEGAL / COOKIES AND STORAGE

COOKIES AND STORAGE.

The short version: this website sets no cookies at all, so there is no banner to click away. Here is the full picture, checked against our own servers, including the little the app stores.

This website

The site you are reading now stores nothing on your device. No cookies, no local storage, no tracking pixels, no analytics identifiers. We verified this against the live pages before writing this notice. Under the Irish ePrivacy rules, the consent obligation only arises when something is stored on or read from your device, which is why you will not find a cookie banner here.

The dashboard app

When you sign in at myretailguard.com, the app keeps one item in your browser's local storage:

rg-tokenYour sign in pass. First party, strictly necessary: it is the thing that keeps you signed in. It stays until you sign out or it expires, is never used for tracking, and is exempt from consent under Regulation 5(5) as strictly necessary for a service you asked for. We tell you about it here because transparency still applies.
Status page historyThe public status page keeps a short display history of recent checks in your own browser so the page can draw its charts. It never leaves your device and is not sent to us.
Nothing elseNo advertising storage, no analytics storage, no third party tracking of any kind, on any of our pages.

Third parties this site talks to

Serving a page involves a few providers, even without cookies. Cloudflare serves this website. When you submit the contact form, your details go to FormSubmit, which relays them to our inbox, and nowhere else. The site currently loads its two typefaces from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests the font files from a Google server and that request carries your IP address, as any web request does. Nothing is stored on your device by this, but in the interest of full candour we are moving the font files to our own domain so that even that request goes away.

How to control storage

Your browser settings let you view and clear local storage and cookies for any site at any time. Signing out of the app removes the sign in token. Because this site sets nothing, there is nothing to clear here.
